1991- Shaun Wealleans, son of a farm manager started SW Agriservices by buying a transit van, repairing tractors and machinery on farms.
1992 - SW Agriservices rented a farm shed to repair tractors and started fabricating Front Linkages.
1993- The first truck tired press was designed and named SUMO which was, and still is, Shauns nickname. Parts were also made for Grimme UK for the first time.
1994- The Front Mounted SUMO first arrived with great success, totalling to date over 450 sales.
1995- This saw our first move to Garton On The Wolds where production of the Front SUMO continued.
1996- We were asked by Lynx Engineering to manufacture cast ring presses in return for Lynx selling the Front SUMO. This year also saw another move, this time to Burton Agnes.
1997- We started producing Bedformers for Kverneland, along with doing more work for Grimme UK.
1998- This year saw our third move, this time to Full Sutton with more work for Grimme UK, Lynx, KRM and Kverneland.
1999- This year saw the launch of the SW designed and built single and 3 bed Grimme UK Shapeforma and Bedforma range.
2000- We continued to design innovative machines with the Grimme UK 3 bed Tiller.
2001- Subcontract work slowed so Shaun decided to lanuch Sumo-direct, marketing the Front SUMO and Front Linkage direct to farmers. Marketing continued with the Sumo subsoiler and the first Grimme UK 3 Bed Topper.
2002- This year saw the launch of the Trailed Sumo Disco cultivator and the Sumo Trio one pass stubble cultivator, complete with all new Multipacka.
2003- Continued expansion of the Sumo collection, with the Trailed Trio and the Trailed Subsoiler range.
2004- This year saw us introduce 2 new machines, the Sumo Multipress and the Sumo Rippa.
2005- The Sumo Quatro was launched with great success, followed by the development of the Sumo potato range, the two and four bedformers and tillers.
2006- This year saw the launch of another new machine, the Four-1. Similar to the Quatro, but used on lighter land with smaller tractors. A concerted effort to create a market with a different season results in a sales mission to New Zealand, resulting ultimately in orders for two Trio's and two Quatro's.
2007- Continued expansion with the addition of 8000sq/ft of workshop space- dedicated to building Mounted Trio's, and parts for trailed machines. Prototype machines are also being worked on, including a strip tillage drill (DTS), for zero cultivation before seeding. Also a heavily modified Trio fitted with a seeder to enable crops to be cultivated and planted in one pass. We visited Germany and did our first European show- Agritechnica, with great success. This year also saw the Trio win 2 awards.
2008- Building and testing of the prototype Versadrill begins. This photograph shows the very first few acres ever drilled with the prototype Versadrill. A new premises at Melbourne was also aquired.
2009- In April SW Agriservices became Sumo UK Limited, and moved site to Melbourne. A 100,000sq/ft factory and office block. The new Versadrill was launched, and the company also had another visit to Agritechnica in Germany. A very busy year.
2010- This saw the first full year of production for the Grassland Subsoiler. A machine aimed primarily at livestock farmers, however sales have now spread into the equestrian sector.
2011- LAMMA 2011 was used to showcase the all new Trailed Rigid Trio, with a positive response from customers. A busy year attending several shows, and another award for the company- The Sir Ronald Burke Machinery Trophy.
2012- R+D continues with the Versaplus, and the All New 2012 Model Mounted Trio 3m has its first public launch.
