We are very pleased to announce Steve Ridley has been appointed as Sumo UK Ltd new Managing Director, effective from 7 November 2022.

Steve, who has served the agricultural machinery sector for over 30 years, will take the reins at Sumo as the business looks to continue to grow and evolve.

“Steve’s record of success, and proven leadership skills working for a global agricultural machinery manufacturer and large dealership group, positions him perfectly to lead Sumo through our next phase of growth, and the board is delighted to welcome Steve to the business,” said company Chairman, James Sweeting.

Steve’s agricultural experience started as a young boy working on the family farm, before beginning his professional career as a Mobile Service Engineer for a farm machinery dealership. Steve then moved through the ranks at CNH working as a Harvester Technician, Tractor Service Trainer, Area Sales Manager and finally European Sales & Product Training Manager. Steve then moved into dealer distribution, spending nearly ten years as Sales Director for a large farm machinery dealer, before moving to Camso as UK Business Director.

Steve commented: “We have a great team of people here at Sumo and I’m delighted to be joining the Sumo family. The company has been designing, manufacturing and selling best-in-class cultivation and drilling equipment for over 20 years. We must continue to generate a strong alliance with our valued dealers, focusing on creating a unique brand experience coupled to a compelling sales offer. Armed with a robust business plan, inspiring vision and some motivational leadership, we can forge a high-performance team that delivers business excellence. Our objective is to make Sumo a leading manufacturer that is easy to do business with, and has a mindset of continuous improvement.
